Support our Direct Care Workforce

Cardinal Innovations Healthcare — mayo 28, 2021
North Carolina’s frontline direct care workers provide critical assistance to children, families, and people with disabilities and behavioral health needs across our state every day. They perform essential roles, delivering services to our most vulnerable citizens with dignity and compassion for limited compensation.

Addressing the crisis facing this essential workforce is a top legislative priority of Cardinal Innovations. We strongly support efforts at the state level to ensure we have a well-staffed and respected care system that meets the needs of North Carolinians receiving support through Medicaid. We are proud to join a broad coalition of groups supporting this effort and encourage you to consider sharing your support as well.

On Wednesday, June 9, a coalition of IDD, aging, and mental health organizations providing residential, home, and community-based health services will be participating in an advocacy day at the General Assembly in support of increased wages for direct support workers. Please consider joining in person, or contacting your representative to share your support for this effort. More information can be found in the talking points and legislative day info sheet.
