January CFAC Update: Learn about the Bonnie Schell Scholarship

Cardinal Innovations Healthcare — enero 08, 2020
Bonnie Schell Scholarship
The Bonnie Schell Scholarship was created to honor Bonnie Schell, the founding Director of Consumer Affairs (now called “Member Engagement”) at Cardinal Innovations. This scholarship specifically supports registration fees of up to $500 for conferences and trainings in the areas of mental health, substance use disorders and intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The Bonnie Schell Scholarship follows the definitions for mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse as set forth in North Carolina General Statute (“N.C.G.S.” §122C-3.)

Scholarships are awarded for the reimbursement of conference registration fees only and reimbursement may take up to 45 days. Submitting prior to an event is required to allow time for the application to be reviewed by Cardinal Innovations’ Consumer Family Advisory Committee Steering Committee (CFAC-SC), and if approved, to initiate the process through Cardinal Innovations to ensure timely payment processing. The CFAC-SC may decide to award scholarship funds in an amount less than the applicant is requesting because the scholarship fund is subject to an annual budget.

Since July 1, 2019, the Bonnie Schell Scholarship has awarded eight scholarships, totaling $2,025. Scholarship opportunities are still available through June 30, 2020.
